THE RUSTIC BIG 5 AUTHENTIC AFFORDABLE AFRICAN HUNT
Mozambique is famous for Nyala, Sable Antelope, Leopard, Lion, Hippo, Crocodile, Big Elephants & Tiger Fishing. In the north, the hunting is virtually indistinguishable from hunting in neighboring Tanzania. The vast Nyasa Reserve is the largest game reserve in the country, at nearly 20,000 square miles. It is surrounded by hunting concessions where Lion, Leopard, Elephant, and Buffalo are numerous. Further south the mighty Luganda River supports additional hunting concessions, where Cape Buffalo, Sable, Kudu, Nyasa Wildebeest, and Leopard are common.
The primary hunting areas in the famous Zambezi Delta now boast the largest herds of Cape Buffalo in Southern Africa today, as well as high populations of Sable, Nyala, Waterbuck, Kudu, Bushbuck, and Reedbuck. The thick sand forest of the Delta is the best place in Africa to take a Suni, both Blue and Red Duikers, and it also has extraordinary warthogs.
Prices in Mozambique are lower than in other front line African hunting countries, as the safari industry there has recovered from the effects of the civil war. Consequently, Mozambique offers perhaps the best value in big game hunting in Africa today.

Mparabanja Camp
The remote Mparabanja Camp is situated on the banks of the Luangwa Grande River, one of the major tributaries of the Zambezi River, and one of the four biggest rivers of Zambia. It is one of the biggest unaltered rivers in Southern Africa and the 20,000 square miles (around 50,000 square kilometers) that make up the surrounding valley are home to abundant wildlife.
Your hunt expands into the untouched reserve in the heart of the big game country, in the northwestern part of the country. Lying in the foothills of the Luangwa and Zambezi valleys, this area consists of Miombo forests interspersed with Mopani woodland and open grasslands that support a healthy family of big game species. These include the Lion, Elephant, Leopard, and Buffalo as well as Roan, Sable, Kudu, Eland, Lichtenstein’s Hartebeest, Common Waterbuck, Chobe Bushbuck, Impala, Reedbuck, common and red Duiker, Bush Pig, Warthog, Hippo, Crocodile, and Hyena.
Hunters must be willing to walk as the terrain is tough and hunting is challenging.
Camp Accommodation
With a full "bush kitchen", open-air lounge and dining room, thatched reeded chalets, "bush toilet" - with flushing water and shower, and hand basin - you are in nature as intended. The camp is rustic and purpose-designed to contribute to your overall outdoor bush experience. Meals are served in the open-air dining area or under the stars on the banks of the river. The night sky is breathtaking and covered with magnificent stars adding to your memorable African bush experience.
When hunting far from the campsite staff setup a basic tented fly camp.

TIGER FISHING
Fishing for tigers is one of the most enthralling experiences and serves as the pinnacle of a fisherman’s experience. It is an adrenalin rush. And where we fish they are big. For an exhilarating Tiger Fishing experience, we fish below the Cahorra Bassa wall in the famous Rio Zambezi, which is mostly unfished due to its remoteness and being protected by the recent civil war. We fish from both the shore and from boats and offer the fishing for both the conventional and fly-fisherman.
Mount Stephanie Camp
Our camp lies in the famous Cabara rapids - where Livingstone could not go up with his 'Ma-Robert' - a 12 horsepower, 70-foot steamship. The river here is crystal clear 12 months of the year. And in terms of fishing has not been spoilt in any way. We camp West African safari style. With Tiger Fish on average being 8 to 10 pounds. Biggest landed thus far has been 21 lb of pure river tiger power. Unlike other spots, there are no other camps or boats in this section.
For the true adventurous fishermen, this is the spot for you. Wild, remote and big fish. You will enjoy the feeling of old Africa while enjoying your stay at the comfortable Mount Stephanie camp. It's a 2-hour drive from Tete Airport and a 2-hour drive to our main hunting camp.
When fishing for Tigers we recommend a minimum of a 7 night 6-day fishing trip.
The freshwater game fishing experience is the adventurous angler's dream. The world-renowned, extreme fighting Tiger Fish, is indigenous to these fresh waterways. This species, well known for its fierceness and leaping ability, has earned the reputation of being one of the world's toughest freshwater fish to restrain. The Tiger Fish vary in size and are plentiful as are large Bream.
Depending on the time of the year, we offer both fly-fishing, spinning, trolling and drift baiting for Tigers.
We practice a catch-and-release policy to preserve the precious fish resources.
Bring your own fishing gear or hire from Safari Landia.
Fly-fishermen are recommended to bring their own fishing tackle.
